How this reference works
Useful comparisons need clear boundaries.
How directory listings qualify
We begin with attributed public sources, including manufacturer locators, regional organizers and business websites. A shop appears in the directory when its identity, physical location and quilting-retail evidence meet our checks. Coverage is partial, and a missing listing does not establish that a business is closed.
What a source check tells you
Official-source details come from the business’s own website and show the date observed. Corroborated identity details agree across independent publishers. These labels describe the evidence behind a listing. Confirm current opening hours, stock, class places, prices and service arrangements directly with the business before travelling or booking.
Services, uncertainty and branches
A service appears when it is explicitly documented. Blank fields mean we lack a supported answer. We keep separate locations distinct, retain conflicting source claims and withhold identities that remain ambiguous. A disputed phone number is omitted when the rest of the shop’s identity is sufficiently supported. A dated guild meeting describes the cited edition; it does not establish a repeating current schedule.
Published quilting subtotals
Where a shop publishes clear end-to-end quilting terms, the subtotal uses quilt width × length × the per-square-inch rate, subject to the published minimum. The subtotal excludes charges that are not included in the shop’s published terms. Confirm the final price and acceptance requirements with the quilter.
Manufacturer statements stay attributed
We record specifications from the cited manufacturer product page. We do not independently test batting performance, rank products, or claim that catalogue coverage is complete. Composition describes the source’s wording; missing percentages are not inferred from another product.
Conflicts stay visible
When manufacturer sources disagree on quilting distance, the product remains visible in the full comparison with both values and links. It is excluded from filtered spacing matches until the discrepancy is resolved. A newer check date alone does not establish which source is correct.
Dates mean different things
The first-observation date is when we first recorded the facts. The source-audit date is a field-to-page check. The manufacturer’s publication date is separate and remains unknown unless explicitly stated. Our change history starts with our own observations; it is not a history of the manufacturer’s product development.
Backing calculation
Required rectangle = quilt dimensions plus twice the per-side overhang. Combined sewn panel width = number of panels × usable width − twice the seam allowance × number of joins. Each layout uses enough panels to cover the required dimension after seam loss.
Binding calculation
Required chain length = twice the sum of quilt width and height plus end allowance. Usable chain length = strip count × usable fabric width − internal join count × cut strip width. We select enough strips, then round purchase yardage upward.
Before you cut
Confirm fabric width, print direction, product packaging, and any requirements from your longarm quilter. These calculators do not model every cutting layout or compensate automatically for shrinkage. Test a sample when the manufacturer recommends it.
Listed records can remain visible after a recheck is due, with the original checked date and a recheck notice. Listed counts describe retained records, not a count of recently confirmed open businesses. Stale profiles are not independently index-ready and their profile URLs are excluded from the sitemap until rechecked.
